Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 bags Frozen peaches (20 ounces each)
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon Almond extract (optional)
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 stick Unsalted butter (cold)
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons Granulated sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a greased 9×13 baking dish, combine frozen peaches, both sugars, vanilla and almond extracts, cinnamon, nutmeg, cornstarch, cream of tartar, room temperature butter, water, and lemon juice. Mix well and cover with foil; bake for about 20 minutes.
  3. While the peaches are baking, mix flour, both sugars, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  4. Stir in boiling water until just combined; the dough should resemble drop biscuit texture.
  5. Spoon dollops of dough over the baked peach mixture without completely covering the fruit.
  6. Sprinkle remaining sugar mixed with cinnamon on top.
  7. Bake uncovered for an additional 30 to 45 minutes until golden brown.
