Ingredients
- 2 lb lean ground beef (90/10 or 93/7)
- 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 large yellow onion (finely diced)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 8 slices medium cheddar cheese
- 6 oz shredded medium cheddar cheese
- 24 dinner rolls
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 Tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and butter a rimmed baking sheet.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and diced onion. Cook until soft, then add the ground beef. Break it apart with a spatula and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder until fully cooked.
- Drain excess fat and mix in mayonnaise until combined.
- Cut dinner rolls in half and place the bottom halves on the baking sheet. Layer with sliced cheese, followed by the beef mixture, then top with shredded cheese.
- Place top halves of rolls over the cheese and beef mixture. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
